Birthday/Babymoon in Big Sur

For the long weekend we decided to do some celebrating. Since Valentine's just passed, my 28th birthday was on President's Day and we've got the arrival of our little guy in a few months...felt like we had a lot to celebrate. We packed up the car, unplugged from technology and headed to Big Sur. We've always wanted to go. And standing next to a Redwood has been on my bucket list since I first learned they existed. It was AWESOME. I still can't believe how many amazingly beautiful natural creations are shoved into a relatively small stretch of land. It went by way too fast, but I'm already looking forward to going back some day. Highlight of the trip was finding a random path off the highway to walk down, sit among wildflowers, eat sandwiches, laugh about what's to come in parenthood and watch the sunset.
