I'm in the home stretch of this pregnancy!! 37 weeks...which I hear is officially full term. Yet 40 weeks is the due date..? Whatever. To me it basically means he's fully cooked and will make his grand appearance when the timing is right. I stopped working last week and while it was bittersweet to leave an awesome school and prob the greatest bunch of second graders ever, I'm really savoring this time. The aches and annoying symptoms pile up, but in general I'm just overflowing with happiness and excitement. I actually feel really spoiled this week, between the mani/pedi, getting my hair done, lunch with friends, naps, pool and getting to create....I honestly feel a little guilty. But my super sweet hubs encourages it. It's all his fault. Anywho...here's a look at my enormous belly and a little piece I created. I'm hoping that once things settle down a bit to keep filling up the Etsy shop with more party decor/detail pieces. I've also been in talks with someone at Custom Made and am considering selling on there as well. For now check that site out. Pretty cool how they match people with creators so that you get exactly what you want for your space.

Dreamy Malibu Collaboration
I loved this project. It's so much fun collaborating with other creative people...on a beautiful beach in Malibu...while you eat delicious cupcakes... and watch the sun go down. Yeah. It was perfect.
So ever since I sold these dreamy dreamcatchers at the Renegade Craft Fair last summer, and got such a great response, I've wanted to find a way to get them back into my shop. Problem is that part of their fun is seeing them blowing in the breeze, in person. When you see them like that it gets your wheels spinning I think. One woman at the fair had said she would love to cover a tree in them for an outdoor party. Someone else bought a couple to hang in her nursery. Got me thinking too...where else might these dreamcatchers look dreamy? Wedding, dessert table and the beach. That's what we came to. So to help capture that 'in person' feel, my talented sister-in-law, Paige Jones did photo magic, while my super sweet friend of Tempt Cupcakes put them into a tasty context. (LA people really need to put one of these cupcakes in their mouths. Soon!) I love the end result. Look for the set of hoops in the shop soon! For now check out the entire blog post here. While you're there check out the incredible maternity session Paige did for me. She managed to hide my massive amount of camera awkwardness! Win!

growing on the iphone
It's always with me, so it's done a little tracking of the growth. Kind of fun to see the progress. I'm 28 going on 29 weeks pregnant. I can only imagine what the photos are gonna look like at 40 weeks! This baby don't mess around. He pushes himself OUT :) And I love it. About once a day I pop my head into his ((unfinished)) room and get a little more excited and impatient. I can't wait to meet him. Hang out with him. Learn what he's all about. But take your time little man. Momma won't rush you.

Birthday/Babymoon in Big Sur
For the long weekend we decided to do some celebrating. Since Valentine's just passed, my 28th birthday was on President's Day and we've got the arrival of our little guy in a few months...felt like we had a lot to celebrate. We packed up the car, unplugged from technology and headed to Big Sur. We've always wanted to go. And standing next to a Redwood has been on my bucket list since I first learned they existed. It was AWESOME. I still can't believe how many amazingly beautiful natural creations are shoved into a relatively small stretch of land. It went by way too fast, but I'm already looking forward to going back some day. Highlight of the trip was finding a random path off the highway to walk down, sit among wildflowers, eat sandwiches, laugh about what's to come in parenthood and watch the sunset. We took a million pics. Here are a few of my faves.

boy oh boy
Our big news recently....it's a boy! I kinda had a feeling it was. I switched to thinking it was a girl for a little bit. But something inside me (maybe my son) kept saying "you know it's a boy." And we are thrilled. I immediately bought up an unnecessary amount of boy's clothes. I headed to the fabric store and went bananas for all things woodland/adventure/baby boy. I've also jumped back onto my sewing machine and started with the blankets, burp cloths and quilts. I can't help myself. I'm so excited for his tiny fingers that are sure to smear dirt and paint all over my walls. I can't wait for train sets and camping in the yard and discovering icky bugs in the woods. This is getting a little sappy...but instead of paying attention to the traffic ahead of me on the road, I'm more likely to be day dreaming like this these days. Since I'm into it...thought I'd share a little boy world.

Botanical Gardens and sian
Today we celebrated the beautiful life of MLK in a beautiful setting--Huntington Botanical Gardens. Loved the desert plants. And the Japanese garden. Oh and the 80 degree weather didn't hurt either. My skin was thankful to see the sun. And speaking of awesome plants...you must check out this super cute Etsy shop...sian. Hand sewn plants that never die. That's so perfect for me. I have the opposite of a green thumb. It's red. Or whatever color kills any and all plants.

Bump it Up
Remake of an old sell. For your Valentine. |
Suncatcher. For my snowy friends..to remind them of sunny summer. |
The ombre feathers as a set now. They told me they would rather flock together. |
Must make this nursing shawl. Easy and cute! |
Maybe I've been shot by the Valentine arrow. This quilt works with my ability to make sloppy lines so well. |
